On this course we look into the philosophy and methodology of teaching and practising to the beat. We will delve into the history of moving together in time, the benefits of group vs solo practice, traditional pranayama breathing practices and the neuroscience of where breath, music and yoga intersect today.
Focussing on the 4Beat “Base” sequence - flexion and hips focus in standing, floor and arm-balance poses, learn how to strip down and simplify your cueing to “de-noise” your teaching, and develop a reliable and progressive self-practice.
Discover the difference between active and passive manual assists and how to confidently use both by reading bodies and discerning what each practitioner needs. Learn how to teach to the beat and integrate the music to complement your teaching. Understanding flow state and how to get into it.
This course can be taken as a stand alone 50hrs or as the first part of the 100hrs (with 4BEAT “Heart” in August)
